How to Use an Easy Swaddle Wrap: Step-by-Step Guide

Quick Answer

Place your baby on the wrap, position their arms, fold the wings snugly across their chest, and secure the fastener. Check that two fingers fit between the wrap and your baby's chest.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Lay the wrap flat: Place the swaddle wrap on a flat, safe surface with the wings spread out. If using the Quick Change version, ensure the zipper is at the bottom. Make sure the wrap is smooth and free of wrinkles to avoid pressure points.
2. Position your baby: Place your baby on their back, centered on the wrap, with their shoulders just below the top edge. Their arms should be at their sides or crossed over their chest. Never swaddle with your baby on their stomach or side—always on their back.
3. Secure the left wing: Bring the left wing across your baby's chest and tuck it snugly under their right arm. Pull it firmly but not tightly—you should be able to slide two fingers between the wrap and your baby's chest. If the wing is too loose, your baby may escape; if too tight, it can restrict breathing.
4. Secure the right wing: Bring the right wing across your baby's chest and fasten it securely to the left side, following the wrap's fastener design. Ensure the wrap is snug around the arms and chest. Check that the wrap is not covering your baby's face or chin.
5. Check the fit: After securing, check that the wrap is snug but not tight. You should be able to place two fingers between the wrap and your baby's chest, and the wrap should not be loose enough to ride up over their face. If the wrap feels too loose or too tight, adjust the wings and refasten.
